Always wear eye protection when working on FOX
forks and shocks.
If you suspect a shock is stuck down, you must
clear it first before servicing. Follow the stuck
down shock procedure to clear a stuck down shock.
Wear protective glove when working on FOX forks
and shocks to prevent contact with suspension fluids.
Always torque fasteners to the manufacturer’s
specification. Failure to do so can cause the part to fail, but ultimately
may result in serious injury or death. Do not over-torque nuts and bolts
to compensate for not having a torque wrench. Get a torque wrench! Proper torque settings
for FOX products are shown in the corresponding assemblies' exploded drawings.
Caution!IMPORTANT: On forks with post-mount disc brakes, the disc brake caliper mounting bolts must have 10-12 mm of thread engagement with the fork.
Be sure these mounting bolts are torque wrench tightened to the manufacturer’s specification. In any case, the disc brake caliper
mounting bolt tightening torque level must never exceed 90 in-lb.
Do not attempt procedures beyond your abilities.
Use proper lubricants when working with FOX products.
Unless noted otherwise in exploded diagrams, lubricants should conform
to NLGI-2 specifications.
Do not disassemble 36 TALAS, TALAS, FLOAT, F-SERIES
or FX forks without first depressurizing
the air springs.
Do not modify any parts of FOX forks unless expressly
instructed to do so in this Service Manual.
FOX bicycle products are not designed or manufactured
for use on any motorized bicycle, motorized cycle or motorized vehicle
or for use on any vehicles carrying more than one operator/rider. Any
such use constitutes misuse, which may result in serious injury, death
or property damage, and will void all FOX warranties.
Refer to manufacturer’s instructions regarding
installation of headsets, brakes, stems, wheels, quick releases or other
equipment.
Consult the proper owner’s manuals
for proper installation of FOX forks.
FOX forks and shocks are equipped with sophisticated,
precision parts that are sensitive to contamination by foreign materials.
